Recently, we attended an industry conference in sunny Southern California. This is a fairly important conference from a security and safety perspective, and many of the most influential people in the messaging industry were attending.
With a dinner planned for 40 of our closest friends on Tuesday night on the pier in San Diego Bay, we appreciated the foresight of conference organizers for being pretty smart to schedule a February event in San Diego, one of the most consistently warm and dry cities in North America. Except this year.

It never rains in California; it pours. As it happens, 2026 is beginning with historic rainfall in the region, but we were expecting a break in the weather for the week of the conference. No dice. Mike, one of our intrepid co-founders, had been watching the forecast and, on Saturday, realized that our Tuesday dinner on the pier was going to be met with an 85% chance of rain. Eek!

So Team KumoMTA flew into action. Umbrellas were purchased, venues were contacted, marketing gurus empowered, and the net result was an umbrella for every guest and dry, warm seats with bay views for everyone - only three days later. This is the value of foresight, teamwork, and empowerment.

One of the benefits of having a core team of engineering leaders is that we can act decisively on signals. We make decisions quickly based on data and logical outcomes. Whether it is industry changes, emerging security issues, or actual changes in the weather, approaching problems are never far from a solution when you trust your team to do the right thing.
KumoMTA and the team behind it are here for you when you are ready to make the shift. We would love to be part of your story.
